Biografía
Dr Paul Miller is a chemical engineer with more than 45 years of international experience in minerals processing, spanning project design, implementation and operations. He has worked extensively on the development and application of technologies for sustainable mineral and metal recovery and is an expert in the treatment and valorisation of mine waste.
Paul is Vice President of Technology at BacTech Environmental Corporation, where he leads the development and commercialisation of its Zero Tails technology, a novel green extraction process designed to recover valuable metals from sulphide-rich mine waste while reducing its environmental impact and creating valuable co-products, including fertiliser and magnetite.
His presentation will discuss the application of Zero Tails to the Iberian Pyrite Belt, one of the world’s major volcanogenic massive sulphide provinces, and its potential to transform historical and current mine waste and acid mine drainage from an environmental liability into a valuable resource.
