Philip van der Walt

Philip van der Walt is Strategic Manager of Operations at Proxa, where he works across Engineering, Operation & Maintenance, and Strategy for the company’s advanced mine water treatment and metals recovery business. He holds a M.Eng in Chemical Engineering and an MBA.
Over the past twelve years, Philip has been closely involved in the design and operation of zero liquid discharge (ZLD) water and salt recovery facilities for the mining sector — including the transformation of a pollution control dam liability into a multi-product recovery operation now producing high-purity water, agricultural salt, and industrial-grade sodium sulphate. His work spans the full delivery chain for mining clients, from emergency response and commercial structuring through to long-term operational management.
